?Gigantic Shell-Game?

by David LaPlantz ·

Can the orange or any other color umbrella continue to protect humanity? Have you ever wondered about the gigantic shell-game that floats over all of us? The shell-game has many disguises: nuclear power (energy), Wall Street, financial investments and anything else which seems to be supporting humanity.

It would seem that all of these entities are barely hanging on and hoping, gambling (with our money) that the stuff never hits the fan. The systems are as phony as the ever moving, three shells with the supposed pea residing under one of the shells. Perhaps humanity needs to look under all three shells and conclude for ourselves about the reality of the game. The tsunami and nuclear power plant meltdown in Japan is a perfect example. The fan is being hit with the stuff of the shell-game and the players are being exposed for what they are, con men & con women.

There is no evidence of  radiation, so they say. The truth or more shell-game sleight of hand or slip of the lip? What’s it matter, dead is dead, radiation is still radiation, whether we are told the air is safe from radiation. Hiss, hiss…… Does anyone know the definition of the ‘truth?’

Variations On A Theme Brooches

by David LaPlantz ·

Variations on a theme allow for an exploration of one idea: re-thought, re-worked, re-imagined, re-configured and re-explored. More parts of the human experience need to be re-thought, varied and re-configured. Nuclear power is just one such experience that requires a re-thinking, namely shut ’em down! Humanity can learn to live with less electricity.

Re, re, re — re, re — remember, re, re, re — re, re — remember…….

Mail Sorter’s Magic Box

by David LaPlantz ·

One treasure from the cigar box was a small glass vial filled with Lake Erie sand. This was sand from before the time the lake was polluted, pure sand, sand that sensitized the areas between the mail sorter’s toes. He rode his one speed bike to the lake, sat and enjoyed the taste, the sound and the beautiful blue on blue, warm sunny days. He eventually rode from the Toledo, Ohio area to Niagara Falls, New York with another cycling enthusiast. Imagine that type of bicycle trip on big, old balloon tires and one speed gearing?

The Lake Erie sand was only the start of memory vessels the cigar box coveted and protected. Memories and mementos, joggers to the past and presenters of the future…….

“Sandwich Suitcase” Adventures

by David LaPlantz ·

Opening the old and musty smelling cigar box was like a trip into another plane of existence. The objects had all spent more than two lifetimes of handling and childhood/adult abuse. They each held memories and stories that only Umberto knew and some only his Grandfather J. J. could have known.

J. J. had been a mail man (sorting mail) on the trains from Toledo to Chicago, then Chicago to points East like Philadelphia and New York City. Grandma used to pack him a suitcase full of sandwiches, along with some clothes. Can you imagine?

The objects held magical powers, for each would help to call up a story or memory of a time that was slower and more contemplative that now. Can you imagine?

Stay Tuned, more to follow.

Can you hear the whistle blowing?       All Aboard!!!!!!!!!!!!
