Cutting Your Losses

by David LaPlantz ·

Shereen always said and believed that, “Cutting one’s losses is an important action to exercise.” We all know when this action is required, but do we listen to our heart’s messages?

Red Sky At Morning, Brooch

by David LaPlantz ·

The two ships passed nearby in the dark sea. The water’s surface was rough and both ships felt the turbulence. Up and down, back and forth, rocking and tipping…….

Reflecting On A Reflection/Reality or Facade?

by David LaPlantz ·

Bob Seger said it so succinctly in the song, “Against The Wind,” “Wished I didn’t know now, what I didn’t know then.”

Looking into the clear water, the reflection was one he did not recognize. Was this a dream, an alternate reality or possibly a reality unfamiliar to his eyes?  Traveling down life’s windy road positions many chuck holes, downed trees & limbs and any number of other curious obstacles from which to learn. Some lessons seem clear, while others may be slightly out of focus. No matter how 20/20 we are, can we (do we) really see?

Sometimes he loved those simple, early times, being innocent, being dumb to the world, but honest in his heart. Can we ever get back to that part of our lives? Do we really want to go back? Is going back a mistake? Or is it possible to link then and now and create a new way of being, thinking and living? Somehow, he knows in his heart the answer is yes…….

March Family Meet

by David LaPlantz ·

Sittin’ around the large wicker table, the squeaky, willow chairs witnessed the March Family as they discussed everything from soup to nuts. In unison, they finally concluded that the entire world was quite nuts and that each of them had to support the others in any manner they could. Each family member also committed to brightening their own corner, setting a positive role model example and helping to change the world, one day at a time.

Observants

by David LaPlantz ·

Did you know that the Observants were members of a branch of the Franciscan order that followed a strict rule. Wouldn’t it be a miracle if people in high places followed some rules at all?

Or, at least some basic rules about commitment to humanity, honesty and doing the right thing, without regard for how fat the (graft) bank account could become…….

Red Box/Yellow Shadow Gets an ‘I’

by David LaPlantz ·

Ye that are patient are always rewarded! The ‘I’ finally caught up with the ‘R & S.’ The ‘IRS’ are now a whole (hole?) and those observant folk will count the 2 dots in the lower left. Did Ya see ’em? They were in the river……. A ‘Young’ Broken Arrow?
