Epiphany or Long, String Shadows?

by David LaPlantz ·

A moment of sudden revelation or insight – epiphany.

One can only wonder just how many people in elected office ever experience epiphany? Revelations come with an open mind, courage and the ability to risk, especially risking the unknown. Every day events in elected, higher office display to me that most do not have what it takes for epiphany. They only have the ability to stone wall, antagonize, waste precious time and money while looking down at the voters and up at their puppet string pullers. I wonder why the politician’s offices have electricity? They always seem to be in the dark, lack the vision to see and courage to do the right thing, while pretending to be, for and about, the citizens who elected them.

Shadow Memories Brooch

by David LaPlantz ·

Even many years after my first writing experience, the shadow memory lingers, like memories of first love. May those shadow memories never fade, lest we lose sight, insight of life’s foundation bricks.

Yellow and Goldenrod Brooch

by David LaPlantz ·

When writing was a maiden voyage, the telephone pole, pencil size seemed awkward at first. Once the hand became accustomed and middle finger callus formed, writing became second nature. What are your early writing memories, beyond the delicious goldenrod smell?

Magnified, Majuscule “A”

by David LaPlantz ·

Glancing down, he noticed the upper case “A” magnified in the water bottle bottom.

What a great way to jump start his day: smashing sunrise (bright and warm), breakfast, vitamins and this cold water bottle revelation…… Life is sometimes magnified in curious and quiet magnificent ways — small, inert and non possessive.

Little pleasures/minute surprises, if we can see ’em.     Be alert, look for and see ’em everywhere, awaitin’ to be ocularly consumed!

“Life is like a beanstalk, isn’t it?” Remember this quote from Procol Harem?

Enjoy your personal climb, not matter which direction you might be traveling.

Hang on and watch out for the gun shot devil!

6, 8 or 15 Brooch

by David LaPlantz ·

Whether tis 6, 8 or 15 rounds, death is still the same. What is wrong with humanity in this country?

Allowing weapons with such multiplicity, concealed or not, is a travesty, a crime and a cruel joke on all of us! Stop the bloodshed, ban bullets, ban those who carry weapons. Rather, why not preserve life. Couldn’t hurt to try…….

Babys Back/Black’s Black Brooch

by David LaPlantz ·

The sound blew towards the left with such force, that the dB’s generated heebie jeebies, but only the hip could discern.

Capitol Punishment, No!

by David LaPlantz ·

Blood 4 Blood = Blood.

New Mexico politicians: please do not bring back capitol punishment!

Does blood for blood prove anything, other than the state may kill for blood?

Please think again, leave the law where it is, dead.

Spinning Wheel

by David LaPlantz ·

The wheel — an incredible invention, but…… The wheel of life seems to do many things – moves forward, moves backward, spins helplessly going nowhere or sadly grinds us up. Watch out for life’s wheel, work passionately to control its motion and move forward!
