Looking in the rearview mirror, then forward…

by David LaPlantz ·

Looking back through my historic, jewelry catalogue, I revisited a brooch I made on August 15, 1982. Remembering back, besides this original, an edition of 12 brooches were created with variations of colors, but always using the same size images and composition. As most artists realize, looking backwards leads to examining the present and wondering about the beyond. The creative journey is always in flux, never knowing what may spring forth next, but being ever confident.

Bump Bailey knew when to bowl his best in Boston, when the Knights were in town for a double header. The Bump was and always is the best way to shock the system. The bumps in the journey lead to better decision making, better choices and growth. Hooray for the Bump!!!!

“Least Resistance” Brooch

by David LaPlantz ·

In life, one can either do it the hard way, the easy way or the way with the least resistance for the maximum reward (effect). It is always the choice that makes the ultimate difference and maybe the outcome. It helps to be positive also, don’t ya think?
